Attractive native shrub with star-shaped flowers and red berries.

Good choice of screening for farmland, lifestyle blocks, and roadsides. Creates eye-level privacy without excessive shade

Small evergreen leaves with good density. Compact form suitable to clip to low or medium hedge (1-2m)


Left to grow naturally, will reach 2-3 metres at a moderate rate while maintaining good shape for years. Non-toxic to stock, tolerant of wind, frost, dry and coastal conditions.

Avoid areas that are constantly wet and shaded

Seed requires 4 weeks cold moist stratification prior to sowing. Without stratification germination mid- late winter. Carefully prick out once large enough to handle and grow on in PB3/4 bags for first 12 months. Expect 20-30 cm.
