Carex flagellifera "Red"

This native New Zealand is the Red variety of Carex flagellifera. Beautiful aesthetic when landscaped to contrast with other varieties of grasses or ground cover. The best colour can be achieved by planting in sunny well drained soil.

It is found mainly in open woodlands and scrub. It is easily grown from seed and perfect in formal settings in the mild temperate garden.

Surface sown seeds should be kept moist in a light warm position. Protect from wind and heavy rain. Germination occurs in 6-12 weeks

Seeds may be refrigerated up to12 months until ready to be sown
