Pittosporum tenuifolium subspecies colensoi is a neat and tidy, extremely hardy Pittosporum common in the shrublands of native forest throughout the country.

While the bark, flowers, and fruit are similar to tenuifolium, the leaves are larger, flatter, darker, and more leathery. Ssp. colensoi is generally also more tolerant of very wet conditions

GERMINATION For best results sow seeds shallow on a bed of damp seed raising mix and keep in moist and mild conditions until seedlings appear

Expect 30cm in first 12 months with growth rate increasing in second & subsequent years

Collected from central north island Pureora native forest.
